Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her professional surname Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The first single, Pho in October 21st, 2016, was released via Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012, as she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, she debuted new music through the internet including Bound. In July of 2015, Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes featuring the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's music references. In the following calendar, her songs was circulating all over Dreamville. On December 8 it was announced that she was contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she performed along with Cozz in her Revenge of the Dreamers II album that they co-produced. She dropped Pho, her debut EP on the 21st of October 21 on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer for J. Cole on his song Change in 2017, and did a performance on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The following year, she went on to appear in two songs featuring her label-mates EarthGang with Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The album's first single, Whipped Cream From the album came out September 5, 2018 with a music video. The second single she released was Grampa on the 9th November. And on the 13th of November she dropped two more singles titled The No One as well as Pdigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of the 16th of November, and released the song in a solo version for her debut album. On February 20, 2019 an official music video released to accompany the track. The track has received 3 million views on YouTube within the first week. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour along with 6LACK.
